Acting Courses & workshops
Acting Club Netherlands organises acting and improv classes in english for complete beginners and intermediate levels. All lessons are led by actors who actually perform on stage (if you follow our productions, you might have seen them play!).
We are offering courses in 2 different cities – Amsterdam and Rotterdam:
AMSTERDAM COURSES
BEGINNERS COURSE
- Learn about different approaches in theater throughout history
- Gain practice with a mixture of techniques for both acting and improv
- Develop your voice and build a stage presence.
- Do a lot of improv and practice the famous “Yes, and…” rule.
- Forget about the mundane, have fun and meet a lot of likeminded people!
* This course also involves a mini showcase!
how does it work
- Dates: January 30 – March 20
- Thursday evenings (19:30 – 21:30)
- Location: Cliffordstudio, Amsterdam
- 8 lessons, one lesson per week
- Groups from 6 to 10 people
price
- 250 Euro for the full course (incl. BTW)
- Not sure whether it is for you? Join a trial lesson for just 25 Euro.
Intermediate Course
Target group of this course is individuals who already have solid experience with theater and are aiming to give more nuance to their style of acting.
This course aims to combine multiple acting techniques as with psychological tools to equip you with skills to:
- Analyze scripts & read between the lines,
- Build memorable characters in your authentic way,
- Learn how to tailor your body movements, facial expressions, and use of voice while bringing different characters into life,
- Find out things about yourself through your character’s journey
- Prepare for what could “go wrong” on stage, learning to navigate unexpected situations and to save the forgotton lines/skipped scenes
* This course also involves a showcase!

- Tuesday evenings (19:30 – 21:30)

ROTTERDAM
Beginners ACTING & IMPROV BASICS Course
This course is designed for beginners eager to dive into acting and improv. Here’s what you’ll gain:
- Practice and perform small plays in a safe, supportive environment.
- Learn to embody a character instead of just memorizing lines.
- Develop your voice and stage presence.
- Dive into improv with a focus on the famous “Yes, and…” rule.
- Forget the mundane, have fun, and connect with like-minded people!
COURSE DETAILS
- Location: Het Schieblock, Rotterdam
- Time: Wednesday evenings 19:00–21:00 (2-hour classes)
- Dates: 8 lessons from Wednesday 12th February to 23rd April
- No Class: 5th March, 26th March, and 2nd April
- Group Size: 6–10 participants

Acting Club Rotterdam and Art is Home have joined forces to launch an exciting new club that pushes the boundaries of creativity by blending theater with other creative arts. No limits—just pure exploration!
With a focus on performance, the club delves into innovative ways to integrate the arts—combining theater with visual, literary, media, design, applied, multidisciplinary, sound, community, and digital arts.
We’re on the hunt for creatives who are eager to dive into this concept. Sound like you? Join us on Tuesday, February 4th, for a meet-up to discover how you can get involved.
